Bach at Sainte-Chapelle, Paris (20.6.2026)
On June 20, Xenia Jankovic and Jacqueline Bourgès-Maunoury performed a programme dedicated to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach at the magnificent Sainte-Chapelle in Paris.
Renowned for its breathtaking 13th-century stained-glass windows and exceptional acoustics, Sainte-Chapelle provided a uniquely inspiring setting for an evening devoted to Bach’s timeless music. A short video excerpt from the concert can be viewed below.
The concert also marks the beginning of an exciting new project. Xenia Jankovic’s forthcoming recording of Johann Sebastian Bach’s Six Suites for Violoncello Solo (BWV 1007–1012), presented in Robert Schumann’s rare arrangement for cello and piano (revision by Wilhelm Stade), will be released soon.
Recorded with pianist Jacqueline Bourgès-Maunoury, this project offers listeners the opportunity to rediscover these iconic works from a fresh and historically fascinating perspective. Further details, including the release date, will be announced shortly.
