LOVE CD

This CD is dedicated to love. Music can easily open our hearts and reinforce our feelings, here hopefully the feelings of profound unconditional love, love and admiration for the nature and for the whole cosmos, real love for ourselves and our dearests, pure religious love, exciting romantic love… I have chosen the pieces dealing, in my opinion, with these different aspects of love. In Silent Wood by A.Dvorak as the title suggests, it is the love and admiration for the nature, in his Rondo it may be the love and respect to the own routs, country, childhood and family, in Andante by P. Tchaikovsky may be sacred love and in his Pezzo capriccioso it may be capriccios romantic love.
Dream of a lover (Le Reve d’un amoureux) is three-movement work by Serbian composer Ivan Jevtic written in 2014, commissioned by the Festival Musikdorf in Ernen (Switzerland) and dedicated to Xenia Jankovic. Ivan Jevtic was born in 1947 in Belgrad, he has spent most of his life in Paris, first as Olivier Messian student and then as freelance composer. This is the first recording of this unusual piece, which starts with first few bars of the Scherzo from Beethoven’s string Quartett op. 59/2. The second movement starts with the beginning of the choral from the slow movement of Beethoven’s string Quartett op.132. This most profound and mysterious choral is repeated later in the movement and is alternated with themes from the Love songs by Beethoven. The title Dream of a lover and the choice of the quotations suggest not only composers deep love and admiration for Beethoven, the great composer and humanist, but also his wish to express in the music the most powerful feelings of love in all its aspects.
